So, if I wash down some Tylenol PM's with an Amp shouldn't I achieve perfect balance?

Random crap-o-la

So I've been beating these old boxes for quite some time now and I STILL use a lot of the
old DOS stuff I used to use years ago...  One of my favorites is compiling file/directory lists
into text files... (Useful for posting movie/music lists)

Open command prompt (start>run>cmd.exe)

Navigate to the folder with all the directories:
C:\> cd Movies

Now, run the dir command with a few switches to make it look clean:
C:\Movies\> dir /B /X > C:\Movie_List.txt
C:\Movies\>
The > Tells cmd.exe to skip stdout and write the results in the file "Movie_List.txt"

Now, if you have multiple directories and you want to continue onto the same file:
C:\Movies\> D:
D:\> cd Movies
D:\Movies\> dir /B /X >> C:\Movie_List.txt
D:\Movies\>

The >> tells cmd.exe to skip stdout and APPEND the results to "Movie_List.txt"

Just type exit to close the box...

There is SOOOO much more you can do, just thought I'd share
one of my favorites with you :)  Perhaps I'll share more in the future...

The never-ending TODO list...

Ugh, just found out they are going to cancel my homeowners insurance
because my front porch is cracked..  WTF..
So now I have to build a new one and have them come out and inspect it.
I think I am going to go with a deck on the front rather than a new
block/slab porch..  prices don't seem too high on treated lumber
right now and it's a lot easier to work with...
Pics will follow when I get 'er done.

Can't take anymore!

So yesterday it was 40 degrees, snow was melting, rained most of the day, etc...
Got up at 03:00 this morning, made some coffee, turned on my Veetle broadcast...
Watched The Longest Yard :)
Around 05:00 I let the dogs out and HOLY SHIT!!!
There's 3" of fresh snow on the ground!!!
WTF! I am sooo sick of snow this year!!!  Daytona Beach bound April 02...

I hate my blackberry!

So I've had my blackberry for quite some time now and I have to say, I
HATE IT! I spend more time pulling the battery and waiting for it to
boot then I do actually using it!
I can't wait to use my upgrade I have available, however, my choices
are a new blackberry or a horrible attempt at a "driod" that my csp
carries... :/

My Veetle Stream

So I created a stand-alone page for my Veetle stream, you can view it here:

Veetle

So in addition to getting free OTA channels on my TV I also use my PC (Connected to
my TV via HDMI) as a primary source of entertainment.

My FAVORITE source is Veetle. It's a website that allows users to broadcast movies,
live television, etc...

If you know me, you know that I could not sit idly by and watch everyone else broadcast
and not try it out for myself! LoL so of corse I set up a broadcaster:

Make sure you leave me a comment letting me know you stopped by VIA my blog :)

No cable bill

So I've been sticking my nose into the land of our house hold bills, an area usually
monitored by my wife, and realized we have been spending WAY too much money
every month on cable (Approx. $176/month)!

I then came to the realization that out of the 300+ channels we were receiving we
only watched a dozen or so.

I started looking into other options and found that there are almost 100 channels
that broadcast 100% pure HD in an OTA (Over The Air) stream and with
a simple pair of old-fashioned rabbit ears antenna you can pick these broadcasts
up (of course you need a digital converter if your TV isn't digital ready)!

My first attempt was a simple dipole made out of 2 6.5" 14ga copper wires
taped to a shoebox 3/4" apart and spliced into a piece of coax and to my
surprise, I was able to pick up 4-5 channels!  I then added a cookie sheet behind
the shoebox to act as a deflector and upped that to 7 channels!

So began my quest for the ultimate home-made antenna!  I decided on a
Whisker-design I found on youtube:
Here it is, built on my kitchen floor, lol, out of a 3' piece of 2x4, 1" pvc (To act as
standoffs), and some 14ga wire.  All of which I had laying around in my garage.

I attached it to my television and viola, 24 channels in pure HD! Buh-Bye Cable bill!
(Well not 100%, had to keep the internet but dropped that down too and took
it from $176/month to $30/month!)

Here is a pic of the image from my tv with my homemade antenna (Superbowl 2011):
More to come one this later...  I've added so much more "free entertainment" to our home...
